Our footprint in the construction of Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong railway

The Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong railway starts in Nantong of Jiangsu Province and ends in Shanghai, passing through six cities. With a total length of 143 kilometers, the railway has a designed speed of 200 kilometers per hour. The construction commenced on March 1st 2014 and the first phase of the railway started operation on July 1st 2020. After operation, people in the cities along the railway can go to Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou and Shenzhen more easily.

In 2014, our company was entrusted by Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway Company and Shanghai Shen-Tie Investment to undertake the preliminary cost verification and whole-process auditing of the Shanghai-Nantong railway (phase I) section within Shanghai. Our company was thus awarded the title of “Outstanding Team” in the 2015 Shanghai Significant Project Competition.

Our preliminary cost verification provides a value reference for the agreement between the railway constructor and the local government as well as the approval of budget estimate. Our whole-process auditing effectively controls the compensation cost, standardizes the compensation procedures for expropriation, and eliminates the potential risks against social stability.

This new railway project is characterized by large scale, extensive involvement, complex site conditions, tight construction schedule and large amount of data. Meanwhile, the client raised extremely high requirement for the accuracy of the work, which requires us to balance work efficiency with legal compliance.

Our team adopted traditional methodology in combination with new technology to innovate the “GIS Management System for Preliminary Land Expropriation (Relocation) Funds Auditing”. With the help of GIS, we can achieve fast, convenient and visualized management of data, as well as timely and accurate summary and review of data. The results can be presented in the most visual way so that all the stakeholders can easily understand the project progress and the compensation costs.

The Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Railway started operation on July 1, which marks not only a birthday gift for the Communist Party of China but also a step towards the achievement of the national strategy. Behind the operation of the new railway are the efforts of innumerable people. It is our great honor to participate in such a significant project.
